From: "The Flying Pig" Subject: Re: Westphalians in 1809 Austrian Campaign Date: Mon, 12 Oct 98 07:18:00 CDT In the Osprey book "BrunswickTroops 1809-15" by Otto von Pivka, the following appears: X Corps of the 1st German Army 1st Westphalian Guards Division Commander: Divisionsgeneral Graf Bernterode 1 Sqdn Garde du Corps 140men 1 btn Grenadiergarde 840 men 1 brn Jagergarde 600 men 3 squadrons Chevaulegersgarde 550 men 1 btn Jager-Carabiniers 360 men 2nd Westphalian Division Commander: Divisionsgeneral D'Albignac 1st Westphalian Line Inf Regt 1680 men 5th Westphalian Line Inf Regt 1800 men 6th Westphalian Line Inf Regt 1700 men 1st Westphalian Kurassier Regt 260 men There was also a Dutch division and a mixture of Bergisch and French line inf in Kassel, Hamurg and Magdeburg all of which were under Jeromes command. Their main aim appears to be to prevent the Duke of Brunswick's acivities in and around his old territories (stolen from him bt "the Ogre!") but happily the Black Corps cut their way throught the Weser and escaped.
