A very good question:

AA batteries only power one gun.
C Batteries (particularly Alkaline) power 3-4 guns.
D Batteries(Alkaline) will power 6 guns.
A Sears 12v auto battery will power all the guns at Borodino for both
sides.

I recommend you check your rulebook for guidance.

I recall that an addendum notes that if you're including armies from
Eastern Prussia, you have to check the pole-arity :-)
