British - Mid blue-grey woodwork, black carriage fittings. France - Olive green woodwork, black carriage fittings. Poland - Same as French I think. Prussia - Mid-blue woodwork, black carriage fittings. Russia - Source 1: Apple green woodwork, black carriage fittings. Source 2: Apple green woodwork, polished carriage fittings. I would think they were painted rather then polished to protect the metal from the weather. Wurttemburg - Stained woodwork, yellow carriage fittings. Portugal(1808) - Same as Brit. They were equipped with Brit. guns Westphalia - Green woodwork, black carriage fittings. The Westphalian guns had yellow pinstripes on there wheels. Gun Barrels: Iron gun barrels were painted black to help protect them from the weather(rust prevention). There are references that the British guns were painted Dark brown at times. Brass/bronze guns were polished. For painting brass/bronze guns on the miniature, I found if you paint the gun barrel brown then dry brush with gold you get a nice effect.
