Spirou is one of the most famous cartoon chgaracters in the world. His father is Franquin (but was created by Rob-Vel and Davine) as Franquin was the author for 20 years. He is the father of Gaston as well.

Spirou albums have been edited in many languages. He usually has this name, but in flamish he his called Sprint.

His good friend is Fantasio. They are oftne helped by Spip, the squirrel, as well as by the Marsupilami (has another name in english, something like "Spiralami").
