My 2304 equipment consists of a
Down East Microwave
transverter and a Spectran 30 watt linear amplifier obtained from eBay seller
"PyroJoseph".
I assembled this transverter from a kit and integrated with
the amplifier in the spring of 2005. It made it on the air for the first
time in the 2005 ARRL June VHF+ contest.
The transverter is usually driven with a Yaesu FT-817 at about 5W. There is a Bias-T outboard of the FT-817 to feed PTT-H over the IF coax. This way I can use a single radio to drive many transverters, switching with only an IF coax switch.
This is the DEMI Local Oscillator board (which appears to be derived from
a KK7B design) with the parts on it.
The transverter's 10mw drive output is used to drive the Spectran
amplifier.
The amplifier is mounted on a heat sink salvaged from a dead Motorola 800 mhz
commercial amplifier.
Slightly out of the picture is a DC-to-DC converter that supplies a few
miliwats of (?v) power for the amplifier.
