The weekend was held in Victoria with attendees from South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. There were 17 Alpines and 2 Renault 5 Turbos. The Alpine model breakdown was:
Day 1 was an observation rally starting at Alpine Affaire in Ringwood and finishing in Eildon with a pub lunch on the way, and ending with a lovely dinner at the Eildon Boat Club. We had some terrific driving roads interspersed by questions to keep us on our toes. David Parkman and Linda Brown easily won the event with 35.5 points and an impressive 5.5 point margin over 2nd place!
Day 2 started with breakfast at the boat club followed by a relaxing drive down through the Black Spur to an enjoyable lunch at McWilliam's Lilydale Vineyard.
Jeff Bee and partner Carol did a fantastic job as organisers with prizes (and admission to the EBC) courtesy of Colin Stark at Alpine Affaire.
A terrific weekend was had by all and I'm looking forward to next year's event with great anticipation!
Rodney Apcar has whipped up a storm on the editing desk - the resultant video is viewable with windows media player. Click on the above link to play or right-mouse-click to save the video to your local disk for later playback. The video is approximately 8Mb, so unless you have broadband or DSL, you'll be better off choosing the download option.
There is a group panorama photograph (minus Dave Parkman's A310 V6 and Bill Hamilton's Renault 5 Turbo) taken at the Maroondah lookout. I have a hi-res (5800x1800) version from which poster prints could be made given sufficient interest. Send me email if you're interested and I will investigate the price.
The photos below are organised as a table of thumbnails per contributor.
