This section contains links to various
gaited horse videos available on the internet. Most of them are short
snippets, but they should still give you an impression of the breed and
the differences between the various breeds. I have also included a list
of commercially available vidoes - for those of you who want to see
more ;-)
PasoPedigree.com
The
discussion board of this excellent Paso Fino site in the US sports a
few videos taken by board members, a lot of them from Spectrum
2005, probably one of the biggest
Paso Fino shows in the US. Unfortunately, the videos mainly show one
gait
of the Paso Fino, namely classic fino. While this gait is definitely
spectacular and fascinating to watch, I'd consider it a pure show gait
that certainly does not reflect the versatility of the Paso Fino.
Hopefully
there'll be some more videos of pleasure and performance horses on that
site soon...

Peruvian Digest
There are
not a lot of Peruvian Paso videos on the internet, and the ones that I
found are of rather poor quality. Still, they quite nicely show what a
Peruvian in motion looks like... Just click on any of the little camera
icons on the web page below!

Gangpferdezentrum
Aegidienberg
Gangpferdezentrum
Aegidienberg is a famous gaited horse stud and training center in
Germany, owned by Walter Feldmann and his wife. Feldmann's background
is mainly in
Icelandic horses (which is reflected in his riding style), but in
recent years the stud has ventured into other breeds. Walter Feldmann
Sen., one of the great gaited horsemen in Europe who unfortunately died
last year, is the 'creator' of the Aegidienberger, a 5/8 cross between
Icelandic horse and Peruvian Paso.
Under the
heading 'Verkaufspferde'
(horses for sale) and 'Hengste'
(stallions) you will find
descriptions of the various horses (in German) as well as videos. Most
videos are of Icelandics or Aegidienbergers, with the odd trotting
horse
(the European equivalent of a Standardbred trotter) or Paso in between.
Even if you don't understand the comments - the videos are well worth
watching!
Tennessee Walking Horse
Association
The TWHA has got a few promotional videos on their web page showing
flat walk, running walk and rocking chair canter of both flat shod and
performance shod Tennessee Walking Horses. Make sure you watch both
'flavours' - it makes for quite an interesting
comparison!

find a couple of videos of American Saddlebreds, including in rack and
slow gait.
Missouri Foxtrotter News
Although the Missouri Foxtrotter is not represented in Australia (yet)
I thought it might be quite interesting to include a breed with
diagonal four-beat, since in most other breeds an even four-beat is the
gait of choice.
